How To Approach People

When you started with a network marketing company, you were so excited about the company; you just couldn’t wait to share it with everyone. But when you approached people, you basically threw up on them with all the information about the company and products or services which unfortunately turns a lot of people off. Think of how you would feel if someone did that to you. Yeah, it’s not so pleasant. Less is more. Although enthusiasm is great to have, you need to tone it down a notch or two but keep that smile! 🙂

If you were then able to set up an appointment to show them your business presentation and they said no, you kept trying to convince them to join your company. This is known as the hard sell. Instead, thank them for their time and politely ask them for referrals. People love to buy but no one likes to be sold. Amateurs convince, professionals sort.

Just because they said no now, doesn’t mean you should remove them from your prospect list altogether. You may want to revisit them at a later time. A great way of doing this is by updating them on your progress. Some of the top network marketers said no a few times before they joined. It’s like landing a big fish. The bigger the fish, the more time it takes to reel it in. The time and effort though will definitely be worth it.

    Great advice!

    When someone says no, I take it as “I’m not ready yet” and then approach them in a different way a little later.

    The most important thing I feel that we must do is make it all about them, get to the pain point, and give the “answer” to their problems.
