How many times has someone told you they will follow up with you and never do? What do you think of that person then? Unprofessional, a flake? This is why it’s so important for you to follow up with that person when you say you will. It shows you’re committed and will be there to support your new business partner when they decide to join you. Continue reading
This is a continuation from my post on Prospecting the Professional Way.
One of the keys to success in network marketing is duplicability. Whatever system or technique you come up with for doing your business, you need to make it very duplicable and this is one reason why. When you’re approaching your prospects, they may be thinking, do I need to learn this presentation and do this? Now if you show them that something or someone else will be doing the presentation, they will be very glad to know they won’t have to and see how easy this is for them to do. Continue reading
Do you avoid talking to your friends and family about your new business opportunity? I could write about how to get over that, which I will in another post, but fortunately there is another way to share your business opportunity. It is called Professional Prospecting.
Professional Prospecting is taking the business approach to people you don’t know, i.e. cold market. There is nothing wrong with starting your business this way and then going back to your friends and family afterwards. In fact, this approach is probably recommended for new network marketers. Better to practice on people you don’t know and don’t know you. Obviously if you live in a small town, you will have to go outside of your town to approach the cold market. Continue reading
Did you know that 4 out of 5 successful network marketers are women? Being a man that really surprised me because I thought network marketing was about business and men are usually the more business minded. But it made me realize why that fact is true.
Don’t get me wrong, network marketing is still a business but looking at the first word, ahead of “marketing” is “network” which should give you an obvious clue. Are women better networkers than men? Continue reading
When you started with a network marketing company, you were so excited about the company; you just couldn’t wait to share it with everyone. But when you approached people, you basically threw up on them with all the information about the company and products or services which unfortunately turns a lot of people off. Think of how you would feel if someone did that to you. Yeah, it’s not so pleasant. Less is more. Although enthusiasm is great to have, you need to tone it down a notch or two but keep that smile! Why does MLM or network marketing have such a bad rap?
Some people call it a pyramid scheme. I assure you it’s not. A true pyramid scheme is where money changes hands with no product or service to go with it. All network marketing companies have a product or service to sell. If they are referring to the shape of the organization when built, doesn’t a traditional business look very similar in shape? You betcha! Continue reading
In the past 2o+ years, I’ve done a few of these network marketing companies and they all taught the same thing – make your list and call your family and friends, the 3 foot rule, hanging flyers, and attend meetings.
I reluctantly made my calls and got a lot of voicemails. When I finally got to talk to someone, all I got was questions and skepticism. It felt so unnatural and horrible.
So the next thing they taught was to approach total strangers. Yeah, this was going to be fun. This was so uncomfortable; I cringe every time I thought about doing it. Continue reading
Are Some Things Just Too Good to Be True?
In the current financial environment the idea of making money quickly and easily, with no special skills or big investment is very appealing. Add in a residual income to promise financial independence for the future and it’s a potential winner. There has been great success with this type of marketing and distribution structure – i.e. Avon, Mary Kay, Shaklee and others. The downside, of course, is to try to sell to friends and family. How do you know if it is a legit business? Or just another scam? Continue reading
Here are the benefits of network marketing.
Work From Home
One of the best advantages of network marketing is being able to work out of the comfort of your home. This is especially great for moms or dads that want to spend more time with their kids. No more commuting in rush hour traffic means more time and less stress. Also less gas expense and wear and tear on your vehicle. Additionally there is no need to lease an office space.
Whatever time you have, you can start this business part-time or full-time. You have full control of when and where you would like to do your business. Once you are earning the income you need or desire from network marketing, then you are rewarded with spending as much time as you want with your family, to travel and make wonderful memories. Network marketing, also known as MLM, multi-level marketing, and direct marketing, is a business model that relies on a network of distributors to use word-of-mouth advertising or referrals to sell their goods and services directly to consumers. Another way to look at it is for consumers to buy directly from the manufacturer or company. Some examples include Avon, Mary Kay, Shaklee, Herbalife, Monavie, Visalus and Pre-Paid Legal (now called Legal Shield). Continue reading
