When I first became a real estate agent, my real estate broker told me to make a website but not to expect any leads or clients to come from the site because he tried and was not successful. So I did create a website and started placing paid classified ads to create some traffic to my new site. I was getting about 10-15 visitors per day and was quite excited about that. In a couple of weeks though, I started getting 100+ visitors per day and found out these visitors were using a unique search term to find my site, as a result I accidentally ranked #4 in Google! So that is how I came upon SEO (search engine optimization) and using a few SEO techniques, was able to get 300-600 visitors per day which led to some great clients. That was 9 years ago and my San Diego real estate site still provides me with numerous leads and clients.
I was recently introduced to a direct marketing company, which is similar to a network marketing company. I am not allowed to say the company name because it is against their terms and policy, again similar to other marketing companies. This sounded fair to me and provides more exclusivity to the company. So their marketing plan is to market to friends and family and that is it. I did start by telling some of my friends and family and got a few to become customers because the products were so good that they sold themselves. Although others have succeeded using this marketing method, I found it very uncomfortable. It takes a lot of time and effort, and I wanted to utilize the internet (21st century technology) to attract like minded people. I heard of a few people in this direct marketing company doing a great job using the internet but I wasn’t able to get the info or training on how they were doing it. The idea of approaching 1 or 2 people per day wasn’t nearly as attractive as having 10-20 people calling me about my opportunity and how to join. My plan is to help all the people that join me become great network marketers and to achieve financial independence – a true People helping People business!
In the real estate business I am able to help people buy and sell homes which is very satisfying. Now, with this direct marketing company, I have been given the opportunity to share better, safer products with people and help them save money and enhance their financial well-being. It’s a very simple home biz!
